The complimentary Welsh cakes were a delightful treat after a long hike, and the staff's warm hospitality made me feel right at home in the cozy pub environment.

Couples seeking quality time will love this!

The food was outstanding, I mean top-notch stuff. we even had steak cooked to perfection. And the owners, they treated us like family, made sure we were well taken care of.

It wasn't exactly cheap, but for the quality, it was still acceptable.

Amazing Mountain Views and Delicious Food

We had an amazing stay! Our room with a mountain view was stunning and very comfortable. The breakfast was a highlight, featuring a great selection of freshly cooked options. The atmosphere in the pub was lively, but make sure to book a table in advance for dinner. the food was exquisite, especially the steak.

Just a prime choice for a city break in Pen-y-cae (Powys) with fantastic value for money. The steak was disappointing, but the mountain views from the room were nice. Be prepared for midges if you're outside after dark.

    warm atmosphere
    comfortably clean room
    limited dessert options

    remote location

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, complemented by friendly staff who made us feel at home. Dinner was a highlight, showcasing fantastic locally sourced ingredients that left a lasting impression. Our room was exceptionally comfortable and clean, allowing for a restful night's sleep. a minor downside was the lack of dessert options, as we were too full to indulge. a superb experience that we would definitely recommend to others.

    amazing ales
    noisy room

Had an awesome weekend with friends! We loved exploring the nearby Grand Theatre and relaxing with some local brews. The real ales were top-notch, and dinner was a hit—don’t miss the steaks! Perfect balance of comfort and fun. The staff was super friendly.

The only downside was that our room faced the road and it got a bit noisy at night. the TV wasn't set up properly, which was a bit frustrating.
